Google Docs

Wow, this seems pretty cool. I did not know what google docs was used for. As I was reading the description I thought, big deal, who would use this when they can use Office? But then I realized you can easily share this document with others and they can edit it. I wonder though how much different this is from a wiki. I'm sure the google docs spreadsheet and presentation versions are different from wikis, but what about this blank document? I guess to me this looks easier or more intuitive to use than a wiki. I'm just not crazy about wikis. So now I"ll just click the publish tab and put this on my blog - sorry, it doesn't make for very interesting reading, does it? But this seems really easy - I like it.

Mmm, Delicious!

This refers to both the Valentine's Day treats at the Fine Arts Library yesterday, and my new foray into del.icio.us. I've heard lots of buzz about it, but hadn't tried it (just like all of these applications... gee, it's a good thing we're doing this program.) It is very easy to setup a delicious account and add websites to your favorites. The only thing I don't like about it is typing periods inbetween del.icio.us. What's up with that? Time consuming. Anyway, I added some of my favorite sites, and some people had also saved them. When I went to view those people's sites, I invariably found some weird and questionable links, and strangely enough, also some links to library related sites (none of my few favorites are library sites, yet.)
My account is at http://del.icio.us/FineArtsHeather

This link may or may not take you to my wiki

http://supercalifragilistiwiki.pbwiki.com/?pwd=t3FAZcfrwK

I like Mary Poppins. I wish I had her carpet bag. 'Wiki' is such a funny word, I was casting around for a name for my wiki, and the word supercalifragilisticexpialidocious popped into my head. (Note: I did not check the spelling of that word.)
Setting up the wiki was very easy. It's kind of a shame the format is so simple, with few font options, but I guess they're keeping it simple for us. Maybe too simple - I copied the URL, but I'm not sure what you're going to see when you go to it. It takes me to a page that says its a real pbwiki page that I can edit. But I don't want to see that page. I want to see the page I already typed on. To get to the page I already made, you have to click on "Recent Activity" to the right of the page. Is it supposed to be like that? I guess it's not a blog where you would see the most recent post, but it always takes you to a new page? Help!
